Delete your Curio account

Delete in the app

• Open Curio and go to Settings.
• Choose Delete account.
• Read the first warning and continue.
• Confirm your identity with the linked sign-in method if requested, review the final warning, and confirm permanent deletion.
• Keep the app open until Curio confirms that the deletion request was securely accepted.

If you cannot use the in-app flow

Email [email protected] with the subject “Curio account deletion”. State that you want to delete your Curio account and provide the account email and sign-in method if known. Do not send a password, authentication token, identity document or payment card details unless we specifically establish a secure and legally necessary verification method.

We may ask for limited information to verify the account and prevent unauthorised deletion. If you used only a guest account and have no linked email, provide any non-secret account details visible in the app and the approximate creation/last-use date; deletion may be impossible to verify after access to that installation is lost.

What is deleted

• Your Firebase authentication account and active Curio profile.
• Saved guides, collections, chat messages, quiz/progress data, preferences, statistics and uploaded profile/chat media associated with the account.
• Associated RevenueCat customer and Curio entitlement records that Curio controls, and identified PostHog profiles/events/replays through provider erasure workflows.
• Curio-owned local cache and temporary uploads on the device when the in-app flow can complete its cleanup.

What may remain

• A minimal erasure tombstone and hashed installation anti-abuse record, without your content, to prevent account recreation or duplicate rewards.
• Tax, accounting, transaction, fraud, dispute or legal-compliance records for up to 7 years where required.
• Encrypted backups, security logs and provider records until their normal deletion cycles expire; Firebase live and backup deletion may take up to 180 days for applicable services.
• App-store purchase records controlled independently by Apple or Google, and content you separately sent to third-party sites or support channels outside Curio's control.

Timing

The in-app flow disables the account after the deletion request is securely accepted. Deletion then runs asynchronously across systems and providers. Retriable Curio erasure work is normally completed within 30 days; provider backups and legally retained records follow the periods above. We aim to respond to email requests within 30 days, subject to identity verification and lawful extensions.

Curio Pass and refunds

Deletion permanently removes any unused Curio Pass time. It does not automatically issue a refund. For a purchase refund, contact Apple App Store or Google Play before deletion where possible. Their rules and mandatory consumer law apply. App-store purchase records are not deleted by deleting a Curio account.
